Linda Reinert has over twenty-five years experience as a speech-language pathologist working with children ages birth to five. She has worked in a variety of settings including homes, schools, and medical clinics. Reinert gathered the material for this book while working directly with young children and their families. It was the children, themselves, who inspired her to give them a voice; to allow them to tell you what they want you to know–that you CAN help them communicate! She resides in rural Minnesota.

Emily Lynch is a painter whose work is rooted in pattern. She received a B.A. in Mathematics from Luther College in 2006, before completing her BFA from the University of Minnesota in 2012. Lynch is a Minnesota State Arts Board Mentorship Grant recipient, and represented the University of Minnesota in the 2011 Undergraduate Student Showcase Show. She currently lives in and works from her studio in Delano, Minnesota.
