The Benny Weinbeck Trio takes the stage at the Blue Note Ballroom of Winsted on Saturday, October 13th. Doors open at 6:00 PM for you to socialize with your friends and neighbors, peruse and bid on the silent auction items, purchase a raffle ticket or renew your support of the Arts Council with your membership. At 7:30 PM, get ready for an evening of EXTRAORDINARY Jazz! Benny’s fondness for improvisation fills his music with dazzling surprises – a Bach-like ripple, a sweet sway mindful of a Chopin waltz, a sudden launch into Boogie or the Blues. Lightning changes in tempo and style keep his ardent fans on their toes and thoroughly entertained. Completing the fantastic trio are Gordon Johnson on bass and Phil Hey on drums. Gordon has toured with the likes of Chuck Mangione and Doc Severinson and has recorded several CDs as well. Drummer Phil Hey was named Jazz Musician of the year by City Pages and is on the faculty roster of both the University of Minnesota and St Olaf College. Join us for a very special evening of world-class music right here at home.
